  In human beings, the power of detachment or the ability to witness one's activity
is well developed. where as animals can only react to a stimuli or
an inner urge. They can't think and act or improve themselves.
They are reactive in their nature. The human consciousness
can detach not only from the external environment,
but also from inner thoughts and feelings. Thus
there is a part that observes and
one that is observed. This power of
detachment accounts for
reflective intelligence.

To exercise and improve this power of detachment or power of witnessing
or power of observation is the chief aim of Venkats Yoga.
Venkats Yoga aims at improving Physical and Mental awareness

* Various starting positions with respect to Gravitational force
* Counter stretches

Biomechanics in Yoga
* Mechanics is a branch of science that deals with forces and the effects of forces, specifically
the motion and de-formation of matter. Biomechanics is the application of
mechanics to the human body.
* During the practice of Yoga an individual's body goes through different positions such as sitting,
standing, lying on the back, lying on the stomach.
* Force transferred through the lower back, shoulders, neck, knees and hips are at times manifold
the body weight of that person because of gravity and leverage. Hence during Yoga training it is
better to adhere to the basics of Biomechanics.
* Some practical applications of Biomechanics and Exercise therapy are:

* Keep your Knees bent when bending forward
* Never Hyper-extend the back in standing
* Keep the head up whenever bending forward
* Don't overstrain the knees
* Always start Yoga with some basic stretches
